Dr Rushapol Breast Implants
I have never had big breasts but after having children I had stretch marks and some slight drooping and a feeling of emptiness in my breasts. I could not justify spending $13,000 on a boob job in Australia when I have a family to think of, so here my research began…. Endless googling and a friend who had recently been to Thailand for a breast augmentation lead me to Destiny Meditravel…I had narrowed it down to a couple of companies and Meditravel I just had a good feel about. I researched the surgeons they used at PIAC and they were all ISAPS members and board certified surgeons. The hospital is also run by an Aussie guy who is very nice. I also like the fact that they did not have structured outings of shopping and tours everyday and were more concerned with your recovery.
The hospital was very well organised, everyone had there little job to do and lead us from one department to the next for pre surgery checks. I was lucky as I got to have a joint appointment with another girl who became a great friend. We were alot more relaxed having each other to joke with and bounce things off each other. We had a funny discussion with a staff member in xray and we did not know how much underwear to take off for the chest xray as her english was not very good.
Mel (our co-ordinator)was great and answered lots of our questions and was constantly organising appointments, moving them around etc.
I had decided to go with smooth implants only to be told at my hospital appointment that they no longer used them as they are outdated so I had to go with textured. I guess it would have been good to know this in advance so I could have researched this a little more.
My surgeon spoke very good english and was very professional. The nursing staff were nice and some spoke better English than others but still a very positive experience.
I was worried initially about going overseas without my family but I arranged to travel with my room mate who I was introduced to by email before I left and felt part of the group. It was great having accommodation adjoining the shopping centre too…I always felt very safe. The surgery plus the accommodation and flights cost me just over half of what it would cost in Thailand. I made some lovely friends going on a group tour. We ate breakfast and lunch together every day and shared our experiences. I would recommend this to others who are looking for a less expensive alternative to surgery in Australia.
